Utauloids >>;;

Anyone familar with UTAU? Well. Um. I'm thinking about making Lucinda a UTAU using my own voice .3. might take some time to figure out to do that, but it will be really neat if I do it.

Don't worry, I have like no clue about any of this either, I just learned of UTAUloids today. Have you ever heard of Vocaloids (for example, Hastune Miku)? UTAU is basically a freeware version of Vocaloid.

If you don't know what either of those are, Vocaloid and UTAU are voice synthesizers.

So basically I'm going to use my voice to make a voice for Lucinda so other people can use her voice to make songs and stuff, woo.

I'll go ahead and say that it's not that user friendly, at least not at first. It's Japanese so first you have to clicky through the installion not knowing what the heck you're clickying, then you have to download the English thingers and put that into a folder called "res" in the UTAU program's folder. Also, until you set the default voice bank to something else the program will pop up an error message everytime you open it up.

I had quite a bit of trouble with it at first but now I've got it xD;;; Even tech nerd Lotus has programs that baffle her (ok there's a lot of tech stuff that baffles me >>)

But difficult xD It means I have to record my voice for like 100 different sounds, lmao. I think it'd be worth it though.

A bit of a tip if you install UTAU and some Japanese voicebanks, it seems like a lot of the Japanese voicebanks use hirigana, so you have to put your computer in Japanese locale first. I can't do it because I don't have a clue where my Windows XP disc is, so Imma just stick with english voicebanks for now :B

I was able to both install the program and whatever it is that makes it in english successfully. Where were you downloading the program from, and what OS are you using? Should work fine with Windows XP and 7 (if anything it should work better on 7).

If it was towards me, I'm not currently interested in making my own voicebank as I have to work on my games. As it is I've stopped working on the AoW game because of NaNoRenO.
